Are you kidding me?
Are the ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FOUR emblems not enough? 10 more really going to make it better?
The thing is, we have PLENTY of emblems and possible cape designs. The problem is, much like everybody wearing FoW + choas gloves + ninja mask, people gravitate to a set few "cool" cape designs. That's not A.net's fault. That's human pyschology.

Absolutely not, lol no way man. Uploading your own images is just asking for trouble. There are enough ways to customize yourself in guild wars anyways.
It would not only be nasty pictures, but I am sure you would see lots of curse words which then they would have to change the game rating. Lets not forget advertisement!
Guildwars would turn into Billboard Wars... The next thing you know they would be selling space in lions arch promoting WoW. But hey they have to keep the servers running right?

Very true there are a few designs that are very commonly used primarily the rawr symol the XoO symbol and stars and the flaming pheonix and flaming skulls (by emo little preteen guilds) are the most common ones i see. theres really no reason to add more symbols although i wouldnt be opposed to a design a cape design contest encore.

I find that if your idea was to go through, people would abuse it by making stupid and immature capes.

For those that know what to do there is tex mod to change your cape design. This will not affect your account or hack the game. If I knew how I would. There is not a decent design in the group to accurately represent my guild emblem. One design is too busy to be viewed cleanly and the other contains unnecessary elements that remove from the focus. That being said, it would be nice to have something better, more personalized, but I don't see it happening. (Our emblem is a rose and the rose option is muddy under most conditions. It completely fails the requirements of graphics arts for display or marketing purposes and that is unfortunate.)
It would be nice to find out what emblems are not in use by anyone, or what percentage of use emblems have. I suspect better graphic design would help some of the concepts get more use.

if you're seeing stuff really muddy, this is along the lines of the above textmod comment, look at ksmod on the official wiki/google. it makes every skin more hd. so everybody looks good, even warrior fow chest looks good with it.
